They’re a Dutch chicken named after the village of Welsum in The Netherlands, where they were developed.

Welsummers are solid birds, dual-purpose in the truest sense of the word.

We breed the Partridge variety.

Stunning roosters, with tuneful crows.

Classically beautiful brown and gold hens, with rich plumage reminiscent of sunlight on autumn leaves.

Welsummers are autosexing, so you’ll be able to distinguish male from female chicks at hatch.
